A work group must be sectoral, multi-field and multi-leveled. It is thus necessary to join together all competences of the company to make a study. Three "standard" work groups can be considered according to FMECA:

Originator                    : Bring their knowledge of the system
Production                   : Brings their experience of the exploitation of similar systems
Maintenance                : Bring their experience of the system’s maintenance
Technical Pilot   : Person in charge for the study until the result of the actions
Organizer                     : Controls the method and guarantees its application
