Criticality is the resultant of the risks studied above. It is determined by the product:
C=F x G x ND
This index is sometimes named RPN (a number of risk). It makes it possible to establish a hierarchy of the risks: the larger the index of criticality is, the more the risk related to the failures is high.
Note:
It should be noted that another definition of criticality exists: C = GF. The use of one or the other of the definitions is a function of the company.
In the case of a system of 6 levels, criticality can vary from 11 to 66 and one grid of criticality makes it possible to locate the critical points for which one will need a preventive action.
